The Comisión Federal de Competencia (CFC or Commission) is the authority in charge of competition process and free market protection. In the fulfilment of their legal powers, the Commission applies strictly the Ley Federal de Competencia Económica (LFCE or law) to penalize the monopolistic practices, forbidden mergers and other constrains to the efficient operation of the products and services markets.

Also, the Commission has a tool to control the undertakings mergers in order to prevent the creation of economic agents with substantial power in the markets. In the same way, the CFC promotes the competition culture in the  colaboration with other governmental bodies to diffuse their resolutions and opinions for the general public.

In this section you will find more information about CFC´s powers.
